In 2017, mohr niklas architekten won the tender for the realization competition for a new multifunctional building for the Uni Innsbruck. The Ágnes-Heller-Haus is expected to be operational by the end of 2023. Spanning around 13,000 m², the building will house an auditorium with 600 seats offering a view of the Nordkette, a large lecture hall with 200 seats, a museum, a public cafeteria, a library, offices, seminar rooms, and reading and study areas.

The design of the building by Mohr and Niklas aims to bring together institutions that were previously spread across the city in one central location. The campus concept around the main university from 1924 is being redefined with the addition of the park. The architects emphasize the meeting point for young people the area becomes in the evenings. The design focuses on opening the building towards the city and creating spacious green areas for public use.
