Scientists from diverse fields, including biomedical engineering and computer science, are interviewed on the new season of the “Touch Future” TV program. The program is a joint effort between the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality and SMG News. With more than 20 renowned scientists featured, the show offers a unique insight into their work and scientific research.

The program’s host, Yao Qizhi, takes viewers through the Tsung-Dao Lee Institute. Through vivid and easy-to-understand language, the show transforms scientific knowledge into something that is accessible to the public. Other scientists featured in the show include Shen Dinggang, an expert in biomedical engineering, physicist Zhang Jie, and more than 100 other scientists who have been invited to answer questions covering space exploration, artificial intelligence, healthcare, and energy.

The program focuses on public participation in various scientific projects. Citizens are also invited to share their stories and experiences of scientific research in the studio. Another weekly science program by SMG News called “The Making of the Future,” aims to stimulate more scientific enthusiasm and potential for innovation. It features stories of ordinary citizens participating in scientific research projects such as monitoring butterflies’ living conditions in Shanghai and investigating raccoon dog populations.

Overall, these two programs provide a platform for scientists to share their work with the public while also fostering curiosity about science and technology among viewers.
