Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, has recently made a surprising statement claiming that the iPhone is inferior to Android. Despite being the CEO of a tech company, he prefers using a mid-range Samsung phone, specifically the Galaxy A52 5G. This choice goes against the norm of tech company managers usually carrying the most advanced devices for status.

Durov explained on his Telegram channel that he chose the Galaxy A52 because many of the app’s users have it, and he wanted to understand their experience to improve the service. He shared a post showcasing how the phone held up in the intense heat of Dubai where he resides, which was unexpected considering phones should withstand such conditions.

In other news, Telegram announced the launch of a new service called Telegram Stars, allowing users to buy goods and digital services directly within the app using a new currency called “Stars / Estrellas”. Developers who accept Stars for their products can exchange them for Toncoin (TON) through the Fragment platform. This new system is expected to reach over 400 million app users.

Telegram assures that the new service complies with Apple and Google policies for sales of digital products, minimizing risks for users. The company has bigger plans for the future, with Telegram Stars being the foundation for upcoming improvements and optimizations. The app aims to provide a seamless experience for users and developers alike as it continues to grow and expand its services.
