Breaking the Stigma: Burrell Behavioral Health Hosts Free Suicide Prevention Summit for Men in Springfield, MO

This Saturday, Burrell Behavioral Health is hosting a free suicide prevention summit for men at Hammons Field in Springfield, MO. The event aims to address the above-average male suicide rate in the area by creating opportunities for open discussions and encouraging a relaxed dialogue around serious topics. Participants can enjoy an on-field warm-up with Louie, the Springfield Cardinals mascot, as well as coffee and donuts, prize raffles, brain science exercises, and the chance to play catch and take some swings on Hammons Field.

Nia Howard, one of the event organizers, recognizes that suicide prevention can be a difficult topic to talk about, especially for men who may have been discouraged from expressing their feelings.
