The National Institute of Mental Health is hosting a two-day virtual workshop that aims to bring together researchers, youth advocates and federal officials to discuss the developmental trajectories of gender identity and sexuality. The focus will be on research that promotes mental health for sexual and gender minority youth. The workshop will take place on Monday and Tuesday, June 10th and 11th.

During the workshop, sessions will cover topics such as epidemiological and population health studies of developmental trends, social determinants of health that impact mental health outcomes at various levels, and preventive and treatment interventions for the well-being of all youth.

The workshop is open to the scientific community and the public free of charge. Associate Professor Dana Prince from the Jack, Joseph, and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences will be presenting on day one, Monday, June 10th during the “Social and Structural Determinants of Health: Community, Culture, and Policies” panel from 1:20 to 3 p.m. EST.
