Breakdancing is a powerful tool for peace and security in Nigeria, and Macca Malik and Jacob “Kujo” Lyons are at the forefront of this initiative. The “Harmony through Breakdance” program aims to foster peace and unity by utilizing the talents of Nigerian youth in the art of breaking dance.

The program is specifically targeted towards participants from conflict areas in Abuja and Lagos, and seeks to engage breakers, coaches, and educational institutions in these regions. Through coaching clinics, training sessions, and a culminating peace concert, the program empowers youth through breakdancing, providing them with a positive outlet for their energy and creativity.

Breaking clubs have been established in both Abuja and Lagos to further promote the use of breaking as a tool for peacebuilding. As Nigeria prepares to participate in the International Breakdance championship, the envoys of “Harmony through Breakdance” are working tirelessly to showcase the talents of Nigerian youth and demonstrate the potential of breaking dance as a means of promoting harmony and unity in the country.

Through their efforts, they hope to inspire a new generation of breakers and encourage greater understanding and collaboration among young people from diverse backgrounds in Nigeria. The program has already shown tremendous success in promoting peace
