Five-star EDGE rusher Isaiah Gibson has retracted his commitment to Lincoln Riley and the USC Trojans. Gibson, who is 6-foot-4, 245 pounds and hails from Warner Robins, Georgia, had committed to USC nearly three months ago. Last season, he recorded an impressive 17 sacks and 55 tackles-for-loss for Warner Robins High School, solidifying his status as the second-best EDGE rusher in the class of 2025.

Gibson recently confirmed reports from On3 on his X account regarding his decision to retract his commitment. There were rumors that he may flip his commitment to the Georgia Bulldogs, and this was fueled by a recent photo on X where he was seen wearing a Bulldogs uniform with fellow five-star Justus Terry. This led to further speculation among recruiting experts like On3’s Steve Wiltfong, who changed their projections in favor of Georgia while Gibson was still committed to USC.

Josh Pate of 247Sports also commented on the situation, suggesting that Gibson and Terry may not stay committed to USC in the long run. Pate highlighted Georgia’s success in recruiting in-state defensive talents, noting that they typically secure commitments from such players. Prior to committing to USC, Gibson was also considering offers from Oregon and Oklahoma.

The unexpected reversal in Gibson’s commitment has stirred up significant buzz among college football fans eagerly anticipating his final decision regarding his future at USC or elsewhere.
