The NFL Network faced uncertainty in the offseason over the future of Hall of Fame receiver Michael Irvin, but this year it has been confirmed that he is no longer with the network. Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post reported on this news, which was also confirmed by Andrew Marchand of TheAthletic.com.

The decision for Irvin’s departure was not a surprise, given the events that unfolded in 2023. Irvin had been sent home from the Super Bowl following a complaint from an employee at a Marriott hotel. Although Irvin sued the hotel, he did not take legal action against the league. Reports indicated that the league wanted the case resolved before considering bringing him back.

After settling the case, Irvin did return to NFLN for a time, but his contract expired last September and led to his departure from the league. In addition to his work at NFLN, Irvin also works for FS1 and has previous experience at ESPN as well.
