In Frankfurt, the most significant trial against suspected traitors and terrorists took place. The trial was initiated by Prinz Reuss and involved a total of nine accused individuals, including retired Colonel D. Maximilian E., Michael F., Johanna F.-J., Hans-Joachim H., Peter W., Birgit Malsack-Winkemann, and Vitalia B. The defendants are accused of forming a terrorist organization or being members of it, preparing a treasonous enterprise, and planning to storm the German Bundestag.

The indictment reveals that the defendants aimed to overthrow the existing state order in Germany and establish a new form of government that they had designed themselves. The trial is expected to stretch across several years with more than 250 witnesses called to testify. The defense lawyers for the nine accused number 25 in total, with an indictment containing 617 pages and trial files consisting of around 800 folders.

The defendants were driven by conspiracy myths from various extremist ideologies and planned to lead Germany through a military dictatorship after launching a large-scale attack on state institutions. They viewed the German government as corrupt and sought to create a new government system with external allies such as Russia and the United States. As statements from the defendants continue to be heard along with further legal proceedings, we can expect this trial to have far-reaching consequences for German politics in the coming days.
