The G7 summit in Puglia will have the presence of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in addition to the seven world leaders and Pope Francis. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni mentioned that there will be at least fifteen countries and international institutions participating in the summit.

During the upcoming G7 summit in Italy, reports suggest that Joe Biden and Volodymyr Zelensky will sign a security pact between the USA and Ukraine. This agreement is seen as a sign of support to calm Kiev amidst strained relations. The pact involves long-term commitments related to military training, sharing intelligence information, and economic assistance. It is expected to partially restore calm in the tense situation, especially with Biden prioritizing a Democratic Party event over a peace summit hosted by Ukraine.

Representatives of the Kiev government expressed concerns about the strained relations and the tense situation with the United States. The signing of the security pact between the USA and Ukraine is hoped to alleviate some of the tensions and bring about a sense of stability in the region. Despite these efforts, however, there are still doubts about whether this agreement will be enough to resolve all issues surrounding Ukraine’s conflict with Russia.
