According to recent reports, Bayern Munich has not yet submitted a formal offer to Inter Milan for midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu. Despite the interest from the German giants, there has been no official offer as of yet, according to the print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera.

Bayern is looking to rebuild their midfield under new coach Vincent Kompany after losing out on the Bundesliga title to Bayer Leverkusen last season. Calhanoglu, who has spent the last seven years in Italian football and developed a more complete game during his time in Serie A, would be a logical target for Bayern. He started at AC Milan as a winger or attacking midfielder before transitioning into a box-to-box role.

Calhanoglu joined Inter Milan in the summer of 2021 from AC Milan as a replacement for Christian Eriksen. The Turkish international, who previously played in the Bundesliga, would not have to make significant adjustments if he were to join Bayern as he is born in Germany and fluent in German. However, despite being aware of Bayern’s interest in Calhanoglu, Inter Milan has not received any formal offer from the German club as reported by Corriere della Sera.
