It was reported that AT&T customers are experiencing a nationwide service outage on Tuesday, which is affecting some of their clients. The company issued a statement stating that there were many customers who were unable to make calls between carriers, causing disruptions for both AT&T customers trying to call and rival services trying to call AT&T customers.

While some reports indicated that calls between AT&T customers were still going through, others claimed that there were complete disruptions in service for some subscribers on social media. Despite this, the company is working quickly to diagnose and resolve the issue, although they did not specify the exact number of affected customers.

The interoperability problem has also caused service outages for thousands of Verizon customers. Reports of issues with AT&T service spiked around 1:00 pm ET, with cities like New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, Pittsburgh, and Indianapolis experiencing the most significant disruptions. However, it was reassuring to know that 911 calls were still going through even though some areas mistakenly issued alerts on social media about disruptions to 911 calls.

This outage comes just a few months after another massive disruption that lasted nearly 12 hours and affected tens of thousands of AT&T customers in America. Additionally, in March this year, AT&T confirmed that they had been hacked and customer data including Social Security numbers had been stolen. As such, this story will be updated with any additional developments or context as they become available.
