After going almost a week without getting a commitment, Michigan football’s recruiting streak was reignited when 2025 Alpharetta (Ga.) four-star edge rusher Julius Holly visited Ann Arbor in June. Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 230 pounds, Holly is a dual-sport athlete who also excels in basketball. He impressed scouts with a verified 4.8 40-yard dash time.

Despite considering schools like Georgia, Stanford, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M, Holly ultimately chose Michigan football as his college destination. He is ranked as the 430th overall prospect and the 12th best edge rusher in the 2025 class by the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Holly is the 13th commit to Michigan football’s class and the first edge rusher added. With his commitment, the Wolverines now have 10 four-star recruits and three three-star recruits in their class. Some of the other big schools that offered Holly scholarships include Oklahoma, Penn State, and Tennessee. Georgia was believed to be the front runner until shortly before his commitment to Michigan.
