Rookie contracts for 17 of the first-round picks have already been signed. However, two players who have not yet agreed to terms are Chicago’s first-round selections, Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze. Unlike other rookies, Williams does not have an NFLPA-certified agent and has relied on a team of trusted advisors instead. Despite this, he emphasized that his sole focus is on football and has not given any thought to his contract negotiations.

Williams expressed gratitude to General Manager Ryan Poles and his team for handling the talks so that he could concentrate on his performance on the field. The highest-drafted player to sign so far is Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, who was picked third overall. Meanwhile, Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels remains unsigned. All rookie contracts are expected to be finalized well before training camp as they are slotted based on draft position.

The anticipated contract for Williams is projected to be worth $39.486 million with a signing bonus of $25.537 million. The deal also includes a fifth-year option for 2028 and has a salary-cap number of $7.179 million for this season. After the conclusion of the three-day minicamp, Williams will return to work alongside Bears’ rookies for three more days of OTAs before finishing up their offseason activities.
