The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) has recently announced that 9 companies have been awarded positions on a potential 10-year, $4 billion contract for research and development focused on technologies to counter weapons of mass destruction. This contract includes an initial five-year base period and a five-year optional ordering period.

The companies that have been awarded positions on the contract are a mix of incumbents and newcomers. The incumbents include Applied Research Associations, Leidos, and Peraton, while the newcomers consist of Booz Allen Hamilton, Noblis, Parsons, SRC, Signalscape, and Two Six Technologies. The contract is divided into three pools, each focusing on different areas of research and development.
