Sixteen-year-old Quincy Wilson is set to head to Paris as part of the U.S. 4×400 relay team, making history as the youngest male ever to make the U.S. Olympic Track & Field team at just 16 years old. His coach, Joe Lee, confirmed the news to Yahoo Sports following the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials where Wilson broke a 42-year-old under-18 world record, showcasing his tremendous talent and potential.

Wilson’s impressive performances at the trials earned him a spot in the relay pool by finishing sixth in the 400 meters final. Despite just finishing his sophomore year of high school, Wilson ran times under 45 seconds in three consecutive races, catching the attention of sports icons like Deion Sanders and Michael Johnson, as well as earning an invitation to a Washington Commanders game with Magic Johnson.

In addition to his athletic achievements, Wilson has already secured a sponsorship deal with New Balance and signed with WME Sports, the agency that represents Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone. His inclusion in the U.S. Olympic team signals a bright future ahead in track and field for the talented young athlete. This experience in Paris will serve as valuable preparation for what could be a long and successful career in the sport.
