In a recent announcement, Florida Pediatric Associates (FPA) revealed that a data breach experienced by Bowden Barlow Law may have impacted FPA health information. However, fortunately, no FPA systems were affected by the breach, as it was confined to Bowden Barlow’s environment.

The incident came to light on December 27, 2023, when Bowden Barlow notified FPA of a potential data security breach. The full extent of the impact was initially unknown, but it may have resulted in unauthorized access to certain FPA patient data. It wasn’t until February 9, 2024, that FPA’s investigation revealed that patient and guarantor information may have been compromised.

In response to the breach, FPA took action on March 28, 2024, by notifying potentially affected individuals and providing them with resources to help navigate the situation. The information that may have been compromised includes names, dates of birth, account numbers, Social Security numbers, health insurance details, claims information, and treatment records. FPA is continuing to work diligently to address the situation and safeguard patient information in the future.
