The Boston Celtics are getting ready to welcome the Dallas Mavericks for Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Monday night. However, there is a big question mark hanging over the Celtics as they may be without one of their star players, Kristaps Porzingis. Porzingis has been on the injury report and has missed the previous two games due to a left posterior tibialis dislocation. If he doesn’t play in Game 5, it will be his third straight game out of action.

Porzingis had a standout season with the Celtics in his first year, averaging 20.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.9 blocks per game. The Celtics finished the regular season as the top seed in the Eastern Conference with the best record in the NBA at 64-18.

The Mavericks, on the other hand, are coming off a tough loss in Game 4 to the Celtics, losing 122-84. They struggled with their shooting, making only 36.3% of their shots as a team. Despite holding a 3-1 lead in the series, a win in Game 5 would secure the Celtics their first NBA Championship since 2008.

If Porzingis does not play in Game 5, it will be a big blow to the Celtics’ chances of winning their first title since Tim Duncan retired from basketball ten years ago. With Porzingis on board and leading scorer Jaylen Brown playing at an All-Star level this season, it seems like this is finally the year that Boston can break through and win it all again.
