Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels, who is set to become a free agent this summer, has emerged as a target for Serie A giants Milan. Despite being controversially left out of the German national team squad for Euro 2024 and announcing that he will not be renewing his contract with his current club, Hummels is reportedly eager to join Milan.

According to reports from Il Messaggero, Milan are keen on bringing the former World Cup winner to their team. However, there were conflicting reports suggesting that Hummels was considering a move to La Liga to join Mallorca instead. However, Hummels’ agent has since clarified that the player was simply visiting Mallorca for a family holiday and not for transfer negotiations.

After an impressive season with Dortmund, where he helped the team reach the Champions League Final, Hummels is reportedly seeking one final challenge before retiring from professional football. With other clubs in Europe also interested in securing his services for the upcoming season, it remains to be seen where the experienced defender will end up.
