During the Xbox Games Showcase, Blizzard and Xbox announced the release date for the upcoming expansion to World of Warcraft: The War Within. The expansion is set to launch on August 26 of this year. A cinematic trailer was shown during the showcase, though it didn’t provide many new details about the expansion.

Blizzard has already given players a glimpse into what to expect in Khaz Algar through several previews. The expansion begins with the destruction of a beloved in-game location, as revealed in a deep Q&A with game director Ion Hazzikostas. Blizzard and Xbox are considering a paid early access period as an experiment, although player reaction to this idea has been mixed.
