On Wednesday, May 22 from 5-6 p.m., Science Kids and the Sheridan Community Land Trust are collaborating to present Unplug: Birds on the Move, an event that is perfect for nature lovers of all ages. The event will take place at the SCLT Office, located at 14 Lane Lane, just outside Sheridan.

During this unique event, attendees will have the chance to embark on a leisurely walk through pastures and along Big Goose Creek while observing and listening to migrating birds as they make their way north to their summer nesting grounds. Dr. Julie Rieder of Science Kids will lead the walk and provide expert guidance on bird identification and observation techniques.

The walk is an excellent opportunity for participants to enhance their birding skills and gain confidence in identifying different species. Spring is an ideal time for birdwatching as the trees are still bare, and the birds are showcasing their vibrant breeding plumage.

To ensure a comfortable experience, attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather and bring binoculars if they have them. SCLT will also have some binoculars available for use during the event.

Unplug with Discovery Sessions are free programs open to children ages 2 to 102. To RSVP for Birds on the Move or other upcoming programs, visit the provided link. Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to connect with nature and learn more about our feathered friends!
