During a speech at the US Military Academy in West Point, President Joe Biden reiterated his stance on not sending American soldiers to the War of Ukraine. He emphasized his commitment to supporting Ukraine against the Russian invasion and assured that there are currently no American soldiers involved in the conflict. He declared that the US will continue to stand by Ukraine in their fight against the Russian invasion.

President Biden addressed over 1,000 graduating cadets, commending them for their unwavering support to Ukraine. He assured Ukraine that they will not be abandoned and promised to continue supporting them. President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine has requested military aid from Western countries like the US, France, and the UK to help defend against Russian attacks.

Biden also highlighted the importance of supporting allies around the world, including Israel and countries in the Indo-Pacific region. He mentioned the US’s role in neutralizing Iranian attacks against Israel and supporting allies against China’s militarism in the region. Biden emphasized the US’s position as a superpower and urged upholding values like freedom and equal rights.

Biden did not mention his predecessor, Donald Trump, during his speech but warned that Democratic values would be threatened if he were to return to office. Trump was the last president to deliver a graduation speech at West Point in 2020.
