In recent times, Biddulph, a Staffordshire town, has seen an increase in burglaries and attempted break-ins that have left business owners feeling the brunt of it. Premier Hairdressing was one such victim when they were burgled on 4th April. Several pieces of equipment like hairdryers and clippers were stolen, leaving owner Linda upset as it was the first time in their 23 years of operation that such incidents had happened. However, some of the stolen items were recovered by clients who found them dumped in bins or dropped, sparking hope for further recovery.
On the other hand, Biddulph Domestic Services also fell victim to an attempted break-in when burglars smashed a window in their front door with a roof tile. The security glass prevented them from gaining access any further, but owner Andrew Barnett expressed frustration over the costs incurred for repairs. He highlighted how expensive reinforced glass doors can be, adding to his concerns about the potential increase in insurance premiums in the future.
The incidents have raised concerns among business owners in the area who are urging for increased security measures to prevent future break-ins. Staffordshire Police have been contacted for a response to address the string of burglaries in the area as businesses work towards recovering from the thefts. It is hoped that these measures will help prevent future incidents and bring peace of mind back to Biddulph’s business community.
