Jackfruit, a familiar fruit in the summer, is not actually hot or cold. While the segments do not have a high temperature and there is no burning sensation when they are put in the mouth, the sugar content of jackfruit causes it to quickly enter the bloodstream and be metabolized. This can make people feel hot and uncomfortable, especially during hot summer weather.

However, if eaten in moderation, jackfruit can provide numerous health benefits. It is rich in zinc, calcium, iron and other essential nutrients that can increase immunity. The World Health Organization recommends consuming 200-300 grams of ripe fruit every day for good health. In addition to jackfruit, it’s important to consume a variety of fruits for optimal nutrition.

When consuming jackfruit, it’s important to eat it about 1-2 hours after your main meal and in moderation – no more than 4-5 segments per day or 80-100 grams daily. Eating too much jackfruit or any food at once can be harmful. People with blood sugar disorders, diabetes, fatty liver disease, overweight or obesity should limit their intake of jackfruit to maintain a healthy diet.
