In a bid to improve patient outcomes and provide the citizens of Northern Ireland with the right care at the right time and place, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust has partnered with UpToDate®, a clinical decision support (CDS) resource from Wolters Kluwer Health. With seven hospitals and multiple care facilities, the trust serves approximately 350,000 people in Belfast and provides regional specialist services for all of Northern Ireland.

The partnership between Belfast Trust and UpToDate will help clinicians navigate complex medical conditions in high-pressure settings by providing trustworthy information directly within the clinical workflow. Clinicians will have access to UpToDate through the electronic patient record (EPR), allowing them to search in patient context with just one click, saving time and ultimately improving the quality of care.

Christian Cella, Vice President of International Segment for Clinical Effectiveness at Wolters Kluwer Health expressed his excitement about working with Belfast Trust on their digital transformation program. By integrating UpToDate into their clinical workflow, clinicians will have reliable information at their fingertips to support them in delivering the right care, at the right time, and in the right place. This collaboration aims to help Belfast Trust continue its mission of providing integrated health and social care services to the people of Northern Ireland.
