Loryn Bryson, ODOT District 7 public information officer, emphasized that although workers will continue working as usual, they will encourage employees to rotate tasks to minimize physical demand and seek shaded areas when possible.

Despite the heat, ODOT workers are taking precautions to ensure that ongoing projects remain on track without any delays. Drivers are also reminded to give construction workers enough space on the road and to reduce their speed in construction zones to ensure everyone’s safety.

It is crucial for workers to check on their colleagues and ensure they are staying hydrated throughout the day. Workers are advised to take extra breaks in shaded areas or inside their vehicles due to the intense heat. By following these precautions, both workers and drivers can navigate the heat and continue their work without any issues.
