BEACON, Salisbury University’s Business Economic and Community Outreach Network, is calling for help from local businesses in conducting its semi-annual Eastern Shore Business Sentiment Survey. Led by BEACON Director John Hickman, this survey serves as an important indicator of the economic climate in the area.

Hickman highlights the significance of gathering insights from business owners about their current perceptions and challenges, such as labor costs, inflation, or borrowing expenses. The information collected through this survey is vital for local leaders to understand the needs and challenges of the local economy. It also provides valuable data to statewide and national entities to better comprehend economic trends on the Eastern Shore.

BEACON aims to capture a diverse range of perspectives from various industries on the Eastern Shore, including manufacturing, hospitality, and tourism. Data collection for the survey will end at the end of July, with a report set to be published on the Delmarva Index in mid-August. Local businesses are encouraged to participate in the survey for a chance to win a $100 gift card courtesy of BEACON.
