Springfield is set to receive a major boost in healthcare services with the construction of a new community health center. Baystate Health and MassMutual have joined forces to improve health equity and address the growing needs of the community. The project will be led by Baystate Health, who will own and operate the new center.

The location for the center has been secured on approximately 10 acres of land donated by MassMutual, valued at $5 million. In addition to the land donation, MassMutual is also providing financing and other support for the project. The MassMutual Foundation has committed to donating $5 million over five years to help fund the new state-of-the-art health center.

Construction on the new health center is scheduled to begin in 2025, with an expected completion date in 2027. This collaborative effort between Baystate Health and MassMutual is a significant step towards improving access to healthcare and advancing health equity in the Springfield community.
