John Pannell, the manager of the Doenges Ford Indians, is excited to announce that tryouts for the team will be held in downtown Bartlesville on May 16th. This marks the start of summer and the beginning of the 83rd year of the team’s existence.

Despite recent trends where high school players are choosing to play travel baseball or larger metro area teams, Pannell believes that playing for the Indians offers a unique experience that helps players grow. The season opener is scheduled for Memorial Day weekend, and fans can catch updates on Indian’s baseball throughout the summer on KWON and KWONTV.com.

In addition to regular season games, the Indians will also make trips to Arkansas and participate in the Glen Winget Tournament at home. Pannell believes that these opportunities will allow his team to compete against some of the best talent in Oklahoma and beyond.

Pannell is thrilled to be back as manager for his 15th season overall and is eager to see what this summer has in store for his team. He encourages all interested players to attend tryouts at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium on May 16th at 7:00 pm and take advantage of this unique opportunity to play with one of Oklahoma’s most storied baseball teams.
