After a post-season review, Barrow has decided to part ways with manager Pete Wild. Despite finishing in eighth place in the 2023-24 League Two season, the club was winless in their final seven games, losing five times during that period.
Wild had joined Barrow on a three-year deal after managing Halifax in the National League. The club stated that during the review, it became clear that they and Wild had different views on the way forward, leading to a mutual agreement that parting ways was the best course of action. The rest of the management team will remain in place at Barrow.
Under Wild’s leadership, Barrow enjoyed a successful run earlier in the season with seven consecutive wins in all competitions in October and November. The team had been challenging for a play-off position for much of the season and were fifth when they won against Grimsby in March. However, their poor form in the final weeks of the campaign saw them narrowly miss out on a top seven spot to eventual promotion winners, Crawley Town.
