Tanzim Hasan Sakib delivered a remarkable performance in Bangladesh’s 21-run victory over Nepal in the T20 World Cup 2024, securing their spot in the Super Eight round. The match was filled with notable statistical highlights.

Firstly, Bangladesh successfully defended a total of 106 against Nepal, which is the lowest total defended by any team at the men’s T20 World Cup. Previously, South Africa had defended 113 for 6 against Bangladesh in New York last week.

In addition to that, Tanzim Hasan Sakib bowled an impressive 21 dot balls during the game, breaking the previous record of 20 dot balls bowled by nine bowlers, including seven in this edition.

Both Bangladesh and Nepal were dismissed during the match, making it only the third instance in men’s T20 World Cup history where both teams were dismissed. This had happened twice before: with Australia and Pakistan in 2010 and Sri Lanka and New Zealand in 2014.

Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Mustafizur Rahman each conceded only 7 runs in their four overs against Nepal, tying for the joint-fewest runs conceded by Bangladesh in a men’s T20I. Despite Nepal’s partnership of 52 runs for the first wicket, their total of 85 all out against Bangladesh is still among the three lowest all-out totals in men’s T20Is featuring a fifty partnership.

Furthermore, Bangladesh’s total of 106 against Nepal is also the second-lowest by a Full Member against an Associate at the men’s T20 World Cup, with England having scored an even lower total of 88 all out against Netherlands back in
