The NASCAR Cup Series’ longest race of the year, the Coca-Cola 600 in Concord, North Carolina, has been halted due to bad weather. The 1.5-mile track at Charlotte Motor Speedway was hit with rain on Lap 246, forcing the officials to call for a caution. Currently leading the race is Christopher Bell with 151 laps remaining, followed by Brad Keselowski, William Byron, Tyler Reddick, and Denny Hamlin.

The top 10 racers also include Ty Gibbs, Chase Elliott, Ross Chastain, Alex Bowman, and Josh Berry. At the time of the caution, Justin Allgaier was in 13th place while driving the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet in place of Kyle Larson. Larson had finished 18th in his first Indianapolis 500 earlier in the day and was on his way to the speedway when the race was stopped.

Ryan Blaney won last year’s Coca-Cola 600 but crashed out of this year’s race at Lap 143 after hitting a problem with his right-front tire in Turns 3 and 4. This led to contact with the outside SAFER barrier and ended his race early. Noah Gragson also crashed at Lap 171 while exiting Turn 2, hitting the inside wall and ending his run prematurely as well. The post will be updated as more information becomes available regarding this year’s Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
