A bustling crowd of over 40 vendors gathered in Colorado Springs for the 2024 Business Resource Fair held at the Pikes Peak United Way’s Family Success Center. This was the first event of its kind since the COVID-19 pandemic and aimed to highlight the importance of building genuine relationships for business success.
Heather McBroom, Executive Director for Thrive Network, spoke passionately about the significance of authentic connections in the business world. She emphasized that while networking is important, it is essential to develop real relationships that can aid in the growth and success of businesses. The Thrive Network is a nonprofit organization with a mission to engage, educate, and empower individuals to unlock their potential, develop resilient businesses, and strengthen under-resourced communities through entrepreneurship.
While the focus of the event was on business development, there was also a petition circulating in Colorado Springs regarding a building height limit downtown. The goal is to put this issue to a vote on the November ballot, with thousands of people supporting the initiative. It shows how important it is for citizens to have their voices heard and participate in shaping their community’s future.
