Schubert celebrates victory in front of home crowd

Austria’s Schubert has won the World Cup lead-climbing event held in Innsbruck on Sunday. Known as Austria’s king of World Cup lead-climbing, he lived up to his reputation by winning his favorite event. The crowd was thrilled with his victory and cheered him all the way down.

Garnbret dominates women’s competition

Janja Garnbret, considered the undisputed superstar of women’s sport climbing, added a lead victory to her boulder triumph earlier in the week. She competed in reverse order after topping the standings in the semi-finals and needed to surpass Alexander Megos’ impressive effort of 42+. The tension grew as each climber approached the wall, but ultimately Garnbret outperformed Megos and claimed first place with a score of 45.

Schubert talks about his victory

Reflecting on his victory, Schubert acknowledged the challenging route and credited the enthusiastic crowd for motivating him to push through. He said that he couldn’t have done it without their support. His win was met with great excitement from the audience who supported him every step of the way.
