In Austria, 26 climbers took part in Lead qualifications for both men and women. Their goal was to secure a spot in the top eight and move on to the finals. The competition was fierce as athletes battled their way up the route.

The women’s event saw two dominant climbers, Janja Garnbret of Slovenia and Mori Ai of Japan. Both finished with a score of 48+, just a few moves away from the top of the route. Garnbret secured first place due to her better placement in the qualification round, while Ai settled for second place. Jessica Pilz, a crowd favorite, claimed third place with a score of 43+.

Annie Sanders of the USA and Mattea Pötzi of Austria earned their spots in the top eight, advancing to their first Lead final round. The Austrian team had a strong showing, with Julia Fiser finishing ninth and Flora Oblasser making an impressive World Cup debut in tenth place.

After her climb, Oblasser expressed her joy at climbing in front of her home crowd and the support of her family. Despite falling just short of the top of the route, she was thrilled to see the crowd’s excitement. The energy from the spectators fueled her climb and added to her overall experience.
