Auburn football program is on a mission to make waves on the recruiting trail and gain national recognition. The team has been successful in this endeavor, with recent official visits from top prospects resulting in a commitment from cornerback Donovan Starr from Brentwood, Tennessee.

Starr was heavily courted by Auburn and other schools such as Missouri, Clemson, Tennessee, and Illinois. After visiting Auburn from Tuesday to Thursday, he made the decision to commit to the Tigers over the weekend. Starr is ranked as the No. 385 player in the nation and the No. 36 cornerback in the 2025 class by On3 industry ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 12 player in the state of Tennessee.

The Tigers now have three cornerback commits for their 2025 recruitment cycle, with Devin Williams and Dante Core joining Starr in the secondary. Cornerbacks coach Wesley McGriff and defensive coordinator DJ Durkin played a significant role in Starr’s decision to choose Auburn, as did his familiarity with several current players on campus who hail from his home state of Tennessee.

Auburn’s recruiting efforts continue to pay off as they currently have 12 commits for their 2025 class, ranking them No. 10 nationally and No. 5 in the SEC. With more recruiting on tap, Auburn remains a force to be reckoned with both on and off the field.
