Auburn football had a remarkable recruiting cycle last year, securing four top-tier wide receivers. In addition to these talented players, the Tigers also added experienced wide receivers like former Penn State star KeAndre Lambert-Smith and former Cal quarterback Sam Jackson V, who has transitioned to wide receiver. These additions are expected to significantly improve Auburn’s offense in the upcoming season.

There is speculation about which new addition will have the biggest impact on the team. According to CBS Sports’ Will Backus, former Georgia State star wide receiver Robert Lewis is the player to watch for Auburn. Lewis played a supporting role under Jamari Thrash at Georgia State in 2022 but excelled when given a more prominent role last season. He led all Georgia State receivers with 877 receiving yards on 70 catches and seven touchdowns, showcasing his reliability and playmaking abilities.

While Penn State transfer KeAndre Lambert-Smith also has potential, concerns linger about his performance towards the end of last season. Lewis, on the other hand, offers consistency and playmaking out of the slot position, making him a valuable asset to the Tigers’ offense. Backus believes that Lewis’ presence could help Auburn achieve new levels of success on the field.

In addition to Lewis, other players on Backus’ list of instant impact transfers include former Texas A&M DL Walter Nolen (Ole Miss), former Utah RB JaQuinden Jackson (Arkansas), and former Georgia QB Brock Vandagriff (Kentucky). These players are expected to make significant contributions to their respective teams this season.
