San Diego-based medical device company Atraverse Medical has recently announced that its HOTWIRE radiofrequency (RF) guidewire has received FDA clearance. This innovative device allows for zero exchange left-heart access and serves as a rail for catheter-based therapy systems. Additionally, the company reported that its seed round funding was oversubscribed, totaling $12.5 million.

These accomplishments represent a significant advancement in commercializing Atraverse Medical’s top-tier left-heart access technology. Atraverse Co-Founders Dr. Steven Mickelsen and Eric Sauter developed the HOTWIRE system, which introduces a new approach to left-heart access.
