Atletico Madrid’s captain Alvaro Morata has hinted at a possible summer transfer from the club. Despite having an impressive season with Diego Simeone, scoring 21 goals and set to lead Spain at the European Championship, Morata’s future with Atletico is uncertain.

Reports suggest that Atletico is looking to sign a new center-forward, possibly Girona’s Artem Dovbyk, which has led Morata to question his role next season. Expressing concerns about his importance to Atletico’s plans, Morata has stated that it would be easier for him to leave Spanish football altogether given the criticism he often faces in La Liga. At age 31, he is not keen on staying at Atletico if he is not a priority player. He mentioned that it would be easier for him to play abroad, especially since his kids also struggle to understand the criticism he receives in Spain.

While Morata insists he has no issues with Simeone, he is unsure if he fits into the club’s plans for the upcoming season. The striker’s comments have raised speculation about a potential departure from Atletico Madrid. With uncertainties surrounding his future, Morata’s decision could impact the club’s transfer plans for the summer.
