Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports in Minot, North Dakota is currently hosting a three-month drive for the organization this summer. Aspire Credit Union has partnered with Prairie Grit to collect various items for their therapy programs. In June, Aspire collected food items for the organization’s feeding therapy program, and this month, the focus is on collecting items for occupational therapy.

Aspire Credit Union’s website contains a list of items that fall under this category, including batteries which are a much-needed and expensive necessity for the equipment used in therapy sessions. Rianne Kuhn, marketing and communications coordinator at Aspire, mentioned that batteries are a significant need as many therapy devices run on AA and AAA batteries.

In August, the drive will shift towards collecting items for speech therapy. Donations of food items are still being accepted, and both Aspire and Prairie Grit are also accepting monetary donations to support their programs. It’s a collaborative effort to help those in need and make a positive impact in the community.
