Asador Bastian, a popular Spanish steakhouse located in Chicago’s River North neighborhood, has been recognized as one of the best steak restaurants globally. The restaurant, which is housed in a refurbished 1880s Chicago townhouse known as the “Flair House,” has earned the No. 14 spot on a new ranking of the world’s top steak houses.

The ranking, released in May by Upper Crust Media House in London, evaluated more than 850 steakhouses worldwide based on eight main criteria, including meat quality, selection, service, and product knowledge. Asador Bastian was praised for its notable improvements in meat quality, cooking methods, and customer service. It was the first U.S. steakhouse to appear on the list after Cote in New York City.

In addition to Asador Bastian, several other notable Chicago steakhouses made it onto the list. Bazaar Meat in River North came in at No. 39, Swift & Sons in Fulton Market District ranked No. 62, Bavette in River North placed No. 67, GT Prime in River North was ranked No. 75 and Gibson’s Italia came in at No. 80
