Reiss Nelson, a winger for Arsenal, has expressed his desire to explore the possibility of a summer transfer. According to a report by David Ornstein for The Athletic, Nelson has informed the club of his intentions to consider his options for a move.

Arsenal is said to be seeking a fee of around £20m, including add-ons, to facilitate Nelson’s sale. Several clubs, including Crystal Palace, Fulham, Nottingham Forest, and West Ham United, have shown interest in the 24-year-old winger. Although Nelson has a contract with Arsenal that runs until 2027 and includes an option to extend it further, there is no pressure on the club to sell him. However, with limited playing time in the 2023/24 season and with his talent and contract length being recognized as valuable assets by interested clubs, it may be best for him to explore other opportunities.

Despite having some standout performances in the Champions League group stage during the previous season, Nelson found himself on the fringes of the squad towards the end of the year. It seems that he may see a move as the best option for his career at this point. A fee of up to £20m appears reasonable given his talent and restricted minutes on the field.

If Nelson wants to secure a transfer to one of these clubs interested in him then he may have to be open to potential wage reduction negotiations. If Arsenal can secure a satisfactory fee for Nelson it would provide them with financial flexibility which would allow them allocate funds received from academy players’ sales as immediate profit.
