On Wednesday, Bartonville Police made an arrest of a former employee who had previously threatened a business in the 1200 block of West Garfield. The arrest occurred after officers were called to the location where they found the girl, now a juvenile passenger, with a gun in her lap. The vehicle she was in was later discovered in the parking lot of Limestone High School tennis courts, prompting the school to implement a “hold.”

Following a high-risk traffic stop on Airport Road, police stopped the car in the school’s faculty parking lot and detained all three individuals involved for questioning. Authorities assured the public that this incident was isolated and there is no ongoing threat to Limestone High School. As all those involved are juveniles, further details about the case will not be released.

Police understand how concerning situations like this can be for students, parents, and staff, but emphasized that this incident was contained and there is currently no danger.
