Robert Lee Barringer, a former worker at Fish House North in Charlotte who committed an armed robbery and shot three employees in 2021, has been sentenced to more than 34 years in prison. The United States Attorney’s Office reported that on Monday, June 17, Barringer, 49, was sentenced to 412 months followed by five years of supervised release for the armed robbery of the business.

The violent incident took place on Monday, July 26, 2021, around 10:15 p.m. at Fish House North on 4554 N. Tryon Street. When Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers arrived at the scene of the robbery and shooting, they discovered three employees inside with apparent gunshot wounds. All three individuals were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to police reports.

After shooting the victims, Barringer demanded that one of them hand over the keys to the register and forced another victim to open it. He proceeded to steal $3,500 from the business before fleeing. Subsequently, on July 28, 2021, Barringer was located at a Charlotte hotel and taken into custody.
