On Friday, the Arkansas soccer team welcomed two new transfers to their roster, both of whom have a wealth of experience and talent to bring to the team. Forward Kate Doyle has joined the Razorbacks after a successful four seasons at Gonzaga, where she scored 16 goals, had 12 assists, and accumulated 44 points during her time at Gonzaga. Despite an injury-shortened season in 2023, Doyle netted seven goals in the six games she played. She had previously scored three goals and six assists in 2022 and was named an All-West Coast Conference Honorable Mention. Doyle was also selected for the West Coast Conference All-Freshman Team in 2021.

In a news release via the Arkansas athletics department, Doyle expressed her excitement about the opportunity to play for one of the best teams in the nation and challenge herself. She felt that the play style and values of the team aligned with her own. The Razorbacks also added freshman midfielder Audrey Shackelford, who enrolled early at Utah before joining Arkansas. Shackelford played for San Juan SC in the Elite Club National League and was named an ECNL All-Conference player. She was drawn to the competitive atmosphere and winning mentality of the University of Arkansas and believes that the coaches will push her to reach her full potential.

The addition of Doyle and Shackelford adds depth and talent to the Razorbacks’ roster as they look ahead to the upcoming season. The team had a successful season going 15-5-2 and reaching the second round of the NCAA Tournament before eventually falling to Pitt. Their spring exhibition schedule ended with a 3-0-1 record, concluding with a 2-2 tie against Baylor on April 14.
