In a recent interview, Arik Armstead expressed his dissatisfaction with how he was released from the 49ers. Despite receiving an offer to stay with the team, Armstead ultimately decided to leave, citing the need for his career growth. He felt that the fans deserved to know what happened and has since released a trailer for an episode of his podcast addressing the situation.

Armstead’s departure from the 49ers was not an easy decision for him, but he ultimately felt it was necessary for his career. During his time with the team, he had a successful tenure, accumulating 33.5 sacks, 43 tackles for loss, and 88 QB hits in 116 games. Now, he finds himself reunited with General Manager Trent Baalke, who originally selected him for the 49ers and now holds the same role with the Jaguars.

In his full podcast episode set to be released on Thursday, Armstrong will shed more light on his feelings about the situation and why he chose to leave the team he had spent nine years with.
