The Argentine IT team, comprised of four high school students, has earned the opportunity to participate in the International Olympics scheduled for 2024 in Alexandria, Egypt. However, they are currently facing a challenge in securing financing for their travel expenses due to the lack of support from the national government. Despite receiving support from the government in the past years, this year funding has been limited, posing a threat to the participation of the IT team in the upcoming international event.

Historically, Argentina has participated in the IOI with participants selected through their own program based at UNSAM. This year’s team members are Eduardo Carranza Vélez, Bianca Vicente, Juan José Läderach and Lautaro Fabrizio Brandellero who have dedicated themselves over five years to become part of this prestigious competition. With their skills and hard work recognized globally, it would be a shame if they could not participate due to financial difficulties.

Given their uncertain financial situation, the team has launched a campaign to secure sponsorship and ensure their participation in the 2024 international event. They are reaching out to potential sponsors to help cover the cost of air tickets for them as accommodation and stay expenses are already guaranteed by Egyptian Ministry of Technology. With determination and commitment towards representing Argentina on global stage, they continue working towards making their dream come true despite facing challenges like these.
