In recent years, reports have emerged indicating a decline in Apple’s market share in China. This can be attributed to the rising popularity of companies like Huawei, as well as the longer lifespan of Apple’s cell phones compared to their competitors.

ITHome’s analysis shows that iPhones have a useful life of over five years, with a growing retention rate or coverage rate. This rate is significantly higher than that of Android smartphones, at least 40% according to the analysis. The report also highlights a 38% decrease in out-of-warranty repairs from 2015 to 2022.

The improvement in repair rates has been noted over the years, particularly since the adoption of new case designs with the iPhone 7 series. As a result, the overall accidental damage repair rate for iPhones has declined by 44%. This longevity and low repair rate contribute to stronger customer loyalty.

While this trend may lead to less frequent device upgrades among iPhone users, it has solidified customer loyalty and appreciation worldwide, particularly in the United States. Apple’s focus on durability and quality repairs has positioned their products as long-lasting and reliable choices for consumers.
