Apple recently unveiled new AI applications, but they will not be available in the European Union immediately. The American technology group made this announcement on Friday. This decision stems from concerns related to the European Digital Markets Act (DMA) and its interoperability requirements, which Apple believes could compromise user privacy and data security.

Apple’s vision for artificial intelligence involves giving software extensive access to users’ data. This personalization is crucial to the functionality of their system, ‘Apple Intelligence’, which can quickly answer questions, summarize emails, and rank them by importance. However, these features will not be available in the European Union this year, including functions like ‘iPhone Mirroring’ and ‘SharePlay Screen Sharing’.

Despite these limitations, Apple is currently in discussions with the European Commission to find a solution to this issue. In the meantime, users in the European Union will not have access to these advanced AI applications. Apple is looking to address concerns over privacy and data security while still providing innovative services to its customers worldwide.
