Paddy McBride was a standout player for Antrim, kicking five points from play in their match against Laois. However, despite his efforts, it was Laois who emerged victorious with a 3-12 to 1-13 win. Antrim had a strong start to the second half and held a 1-10 to 1-7 lead after 45 minutes, thanks in part to a goal from Paddy McAleer.

Despite losing Evan O’Carroll to a black card for tripping Marc Jordan, Laois continued to dominate. Goalkeeper Killian Roche and O’Carroll both contributed to the scoring, securing their victory. In the 54th minute, Kevin Swayne capitalized on a dropped shot and fisted the ball into the net for Laois’ second goal, shifting momentum in their favor. Brian Byrne sealed the win for Laois with a goal on the break two minutes from the end of normal time.

Laois will now face either Sligo or Down in the Tailteann Cup final at Croke Park on July 13. Their strong performance against Antrim has shown that they will be a formidable opponent for whichever team they face in the final.
